Cummins Diesel Generator Set: Control System
The DSE501 is a Manual Start Control Module, which has been designed tomanually control the engine via a key switch on the front panel. The module isused to start and stop the engine, indicate fault conditions, automaticallyshut down the engine and show the fault condition by LED.
The module has the ability to monitor the following conditions: Low OilPressure, High Engine Temperature, Auxiliary Shutdown and Overspeed. Each alarmchannel has its own LED indicator and once activated no further alarmconditions will be accepted

The module is operated via a three position key switch mounted on the frontpanel with Stop, Run and Start positions. In the Stop position the DC supply isremoved from the module and the run relay and alarm output are de-energised.
Cummins Diesel Generator Set: Operation:
If the switch is turned to the Run position the module is powered up and therun relay is energised, activating the engine fuel/ignition system and theprotection hold off timer is initiated. If the switch is moved to the Startposition and held against the spring position, a positive supply is applied tothe relevant output terminal and on to the starter motor. Once the engine hasstarted, the switch should be released and allowed to return to the Runposition.
