Fixed plug in attenuator (male tofemale) is used in optical systems where the optical power from a sourceis too high for the test equipment in use. The fixed plugin attenuator introduces an in-line fixed loss that will reduce the sourcepower to an acceptable detection level. The attenuation level should be stablewith temperature and wavelength for a stable reliable system.
G-TECH produces a wide range of plug-type single mode attenuator. Thefemale to male attenuator is used directly on the fiber optic connectors andprovides a fixed level of optical attenuation. They have low return loss andworks at both 1310nm and 1550nm wavelength range. FC and SC connector typeswith PC or APC polish are available, as well as ST and LC types ofattenuators.
