Slotted Nut

Slotted nuts are specifically used for axle screws on the front and rear wheels of automobiles in order to attach axels, thus securing the car frame to the tires. A cotter pin should be used with the slotter nut to fasten through the entire slot, thus preventing the nut from loosening.
