Application
Magnesium oxide is often adopted to buffer PH value of polymers in the range of 8.5-10.0, and it also deters acid hydrolysis and thus extends the upper temperature limit of polymers. So, thermal degradation is avoided.
Aside from these, this alkaline earth metal oxide offers supplementary filtration control and stabilizes polymer systems with the help of other additives, such as sodium chloride, oil soluble resin or calcium carbonate.
