Uses
1. Ammonium Polyphosphate, also called APP, is a non-halogenated flame retardant. It is mainly applied in intumescent fire retardant coatings and thermosetting resins, such as rigid polyurethane foam, UP resins, epoxy resins, and more. Also, it can be used as a flame retardant in various manufactured goods made from fiber, timber, rubber and plastics.
2. Owing to its high molecular weight (n>1000) and high stability, APP can function as a major component of intumescent flame retardant thermoplastics.
3. In particular, the polymer chemicals allow PP to achieve UL94-V0 flammability rating, when used for producing electronic components.
