Live Animal Holding
During lairage, pigs will stop feed to rest for 24 hours. Then they will be showered by lukewarm water to relieve their stress caused by transportation and clean their body. Before pigs get into the corridor, bar code scanner is used to collect the information of them to ensure reliable carcass traceability. The corridor is designed to be wide at the entrance and then narrowed gradually. Starting with 2-4 pigs are allowed to pass side-by-side. With the corridor narrowed at width ranges from 380mm to 400mm, only one pig is allowed to pass and chop back is impossible.
