Belt conveyor is composed of metal frame with rollersat each end of flat metal bed. Belt is looped around each of the rollers. Sowhen one of the rollers is powered by an electrical motor, belt slides acrossthe solid metal frame bed, thus moving the material. In heavy-duty application,beds are replaced with rollers. Rollers make materials conveying possiblebecause they can reduce the amount of friction generated from the heavy loadingon the belt. At present, belt conveyor can be manufactured with curved sectionswhich use tapered rollers and curved belting to convey products around corner.
