Concrete with controlled temperature is usually used to mould the base of dam, nuclear power station, high-speed rail way and high-rise buildings.

In the concrete stirring process, the heat of hydration will interiorly expand the volume of the concrete. Then if the environmentally temperature is low, the volume of the concrete will decrease, thus crack may occur to the concrete base. In order to avoid this problem, the original temperature of the concrete before moulding should be kept low. Only in this way, the buildings can be guaranteed to be solid and safe.

There are mainly tow methods to cool concrete in project construction. One is to add flake ice into the mixing water pool to cool the mixing water; the other is to add ice flakes directly during the siring process to cool the concrete.
