Features and Applications
Decabromodiphenyl ethane, abbreviated as DBDPE, is white powder without odour or corrosion. It is insoluble in water, ethanol, acetone, benzene, chlorinated aromatics, and some others.
Decabromodiphenyl ethane is a brominated flame retardant with similar structure and applications with decabromodiphenyl ether. Presently, it has been increasingly utilized to replace decaBDE to serve as an additive to flammable materials to decrease the risk of accidental fire.
DBDPE is a new and universal additive flame retardant with high efficiency and environmental protection. It possesses extraordinary thermal stability, ultra high bromine content, strong UV resistance, extremely low toxicity, and other advantages.
DBDPE is a great plastics additive for a wide range of polymers for flame inhibition, suppression and delay purposes. To illustrate, it gives wide applications in styrene-based polymer, engineering thermoplastics, wire and cable coatings, insulator, elastomer, thermosetting plastic, and some others.
