General Purposes
1. Tris(tribromoneopentyl) phosphate is an additive flame retardant, which is applied in polypropylene (PP) and high-pressure polystyrene (HIPS). Its fire rating reaches class V-2 in accordance with UL94 standard. Additionally, this product possesses great UV resistance and light stability.
2. TTBNP is an abbreviation of this product. It is initially designed to find a newer and better fire retardant within the rapidly developed polypropylene area. A combination of high bromine content (70%) and phosphorus content (3%) contributes to high efficiency of flame retardant.
3. Owing to its high melting point of 181℃, tris (tribromoneopentyl) phosphate is allowed to produce high levels of concentrates. Furthermore, this brominated flame retardant can be melted and mixed. When melted at the processing temperature of PP, it will be easily dealt with, and also improve the flowability. This can solve the problem of film formation on surface that used to happen by adoption of PE flame retardant.
Storage
Tris (tribromoneopentyl) phosphate is stable under normal conditions. It might as well be stored in a dry, cool, and well ventilated place. Moreover, this flame retardant ought to avoid inhalation, ingestion, as well as the contact with eyes and skin.
