Features and Applications
1. 3-hydroxyphenylphosphinyl-propanoic acid can be abbreviated to 3-HPP. It is also known as 2-carboxyethyl (phenyl) phosphinic acid, or CEPPA.
2. As reactive type phosphinate flame retardant, this product can create a copolymerization reaction with terephthalic acid (PTA) and ethylene glycol (EG), so as to synthesize the polyester chip. The existence of CEPPA in this polymerization reaction helps form the macromolecular structure, and thereby the flameproof polyester chip can be provided with satisfactory spinning property as well as permanent fire resistance.
3. Thanks to high phosphorus content of 14.5%, 3-hydroxyphenylphosphinyl-propanoic acid can offer a wonderful fire-resistant effect. Made from 4-5% (weight percentage) of CEPPA fire retardant, the polyester chip can make the oxygen index reach up to 32-33%.
4. Moreover, the highly reactive plastic additive is able to obtain the high molecular weight of polyester chip. It is odorless and non-toxic, providing high thermal stability, oxidation stability, and water resistance. This flame retardant is especially suitable for the production of high-quality flameproof polyester chip.
