The phenolic paper laminated tube adopts insulation paper as the substrate and phenolic resin as the adhesion agent, and is made by a series of processes including heating, rolling, drying, and solidifying. It is characterized by light weight and low density (1.1g/cm3), and also comes with good dielectric properties in the dry state. It has been widely used as insulation structure parts of electrical equipment in a dry environment or in transformer oil.

Its external surface is smooth, without defects such as blistering, or de-lamination. The inner wall is allowed to have slight wrinkles, bubbles or pressing mark that won't influence the vertical layer withstand voltage of the product. Furthermore, the cut surface of both ends is smooth and clean, and the end faces of 13m thick products are allowed to have slight cracks.
