A solid state relay electronically switches states when an external voltage is applied along its n-type and p-type junctions. It is formed by a sensor responding to appropriate input (the control signal), a solid-state relay power switch, and coupling mechanisms to activate the switch without mechanical parts. The most distinct feature of this circuit controller is its fast switching speeds, ranging between 1 to 100 nanoseconds.
