Self-Tapping Screw for Steel Framed Building

A self-tapping screw is a threaded fastener that can tap its own hole in metal or non-metallic material as it is driven into it. It has high tensile strength, and is characterized by the single-piece, single-edge combination.

According to the material, there are two common types of the self-tapping series: carbon steel screws and stainless steel screws. The carbon steel type is usually made of 1022 carbon steel. One should note that it is different from the self-drilling screw.
