CAS NO.: 33089-61-1
Amitraz is a non-systemic acaricide and insecticide. It has been found to have an insect repellent effect, working as an insecticide and also as a pesticide synergist.
Function
Amitraz is particularly effective against acarids, but it is used as a pesticide in many different fields. Therefore, the substance is available in varied forms, such as in a wettable powder, emulsifiable concentrate, soluble concentrate/liquid, and impregnated collar for dogs. It achieves special efficiency against mites like Demodex canis, but it also works against lice, flies and all development stages of ticks.
Crop | Pests | Rate of Use | Application |
Citrus | mite | 130-200mg/kg | Spray |
Citrus | scale insect | 130-200mg/kg
Apple trees | panonychus ulmi | 130-200mg/kg
Apple trees | tetranychus viennensis zacher | 130-200mg/kg
Pear trees | pear psylla | 166-250mg/kg
Cotton | two-spotted spider mite | 60-120 g/ha. |
Benefits
1. Amitraz can be used as a pesticide synergist. It can also increase the effect of some other pesticides if they are combined with the chemical for farming use.
2. This farm chemical can be traced back to the mechanisms of action, which lead to a wide field of effects, including direct lethality, excitant-repellant behavioral effects, and chemosterilization for the target species.
3. It is especially effective against insects such as spider mites and ticks in their juvenile and resistant forms.
4. In some countries, amitraz emulsions are applied to treat Demodicosis of cats or dogs, an exceeding infestation of mites of the family Demodicidae.
Note
1. This chemical compound acts as an insecticide, which means that it can be used to control insects that are directly or indirectly harmful to men.
2. It is stored in condition of dryness, while simultaneously being kept away from fire. The period of validity is two years.
3. Don't be mixed with alkaline pesticides.
