CAS NO.: 10605-21-7
Carbendazim is a widely used, broad-spectrum benzimidazole fungicide and a metabolite of benomyl.
Benefits
As a crop protection chemical, it is used for the control of a wide range of fungal pathogens on cereals, fruits, cotton, tobacco, turf, ornamentals and vegetables.
Function
Acute toxicity is low and excretion is rapid. At high dose levels, repeated exposure causes spermatogenic effects in rats and hepatic tumours in mice.
Note
Studies have found high doses of the chemical for farming use cause infertility and destroy the testicles of laboratory animals.
