Steam Separator

A steam separator is used to dry the steam or air before it enters the end-user equipment. Removing moisture from the steam or air increases the operating efficiency and extends the service life of user equipment.

One common use of our moisture separator is in the compressed air line of the mine, where it is employed as an air water separator to remove water droplets and solid particles from the steam and pressurized air. Often, the steam separator is custom-made for a specific application, according to individual requirements. Pictures on this page show several custom steam separators we once made for our clients.

The steam separator is in essence a pressure vessel made of carbon steel or stainless steel. It is fitted to the inlet end of the compressed air line via the aid of a flange.
