Combining a cylindrical pedestal and a bearing, the cylindrical cartridge bearing units feature small friction coefficient, high limit speed, simple structure, low cost and high manufacturing accuracy.
The outer ring of the bearing pedestal is cylindrical and it can achieve aligning. Through grinding process, the pedestal realizes good concentricity with the bearing. Hence, they can work together like a regular self-aligning ball bearing. Meanwhile, the pedestal can move along axial direction and it is usually installed on the free side of the bearing, which has relatively high elasticity. The pedestal is very durable and doesn’t require constant maintenance.
