Model XQ28/2.6T sucker rod tongs offer significant improvements in motor torques over model XQ28/1.8Y gripping tools. They are especially suitable for use in tough oil-well servicing applications where rust makes the sucker rod difficult to break apart.
This type of sucker rod tongs features a simplified, compact, and lightweight design. The clamping device brings together the master tongs and backup tongs into a whole.
A hand-operated directional control valve is directly attached to the hydraulic motor. It regulates the amount of fluid flowing to the motor, which in turn controls the tongs to clamp onto or remove from the sucker rod. The master tongs also comes with the reset knob. Simply turn the knob clockwise or otherwise, and the tongs would either rotate at a high speed or at a high torque.
The backup tongs resemble a wrench. You can install a jaw insert on the backup tongs and a jaw plate of a particular size to the master tongs.
