The TQ 340-35 casing tongs are covered by 2 Chinese patents. One is for the invention of power tongs with a pneumatic clutch and planetary gear whose patent number is 97116001.5. The other is a design patent, which means the design of power tongs is protected by patent number 97221895.5.
This state-of-the-art casing tongs are comprised of two movable arms made from jaw plates. Such tong arms are easy to assemble and disassemble. Optimized tongs design ensures a reliable grip onto the objects being clamped. With a proper tangential stress to axial stress ratio, it also allows the tongs to be easily removed from the clamped objects.
Additionally, brake bands are used to deliver maximum brake torque. They are easy to adjust, repair, and replace. The open-throat ring gear comes fitted with a bearing structure, which enhances the gear strength and rigidity.
Model TQ340-35 hydraulic tongs come with a double-row planetary gear mechanism that offers 3-speed transmissions. This is in direct contrast with ZQ203-100 casing tongs, which also have a two-row planetary gear train but only offer 2-speed transmissions. Also unique to the TQ340-35 model is the pneumatic clutch, with which drivers can change gears without stopping the motor as is often the case with an ordinary hydraulic tongs. This reduces machine downtime.
The gear motor is also made with unique structure and has been sent through special process, enabling 20% improvements in torques. The enclosure of our casing tongs is made of 16Mn steel for improved strength. Jaw plates are through precision forging process to receive an attractive look and robust construction.
