Cacao Pigment

The cacao pigment is a kind of plant-based dye. Its raw material is the seed coat of fruit of cacao trees, which undergoes the following processes including the alkaline cleaning, filtration, thickening, and the desiccation process.


This cacao pigment is a chocolate-colored powder which mainly consists of polyketide glycoside. It can be easily dissolved in water and dilute ethanol solution. The color of its solution becomes deep when pH value increases. However, its hue does not change. In addition, our product is resistant to heat, oxidation and light.
