1. Characters
Ampicillin Sodium is a white or off-white crystalline powder. It has no odor or slight odor.
2. Solubility
This product is easily soluble in water. It is slightly soluble in ethanol, but insoluble in diethyl ether.
3. Stability
The chemical substance is not resistant to enzymes. It is stable in acids.
4. Classification
The product acts as a kind of semi-synthetic and broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotics. Its free acid with 3 water molecules is used for oral administration. Its sodium salt is used for injection.
Applications
As a type of beta-lactam antibiotics, Ampicillin Sodium is ideal for treating the sensitive Enterococci,Shigella dysenteriae, Salmonella typhi, Escherichia coli, Listeria monocytogenes, Clostridium perfringens, Haemophilus influenzae, and Proteus mirabilis, among others.
