Pre-shipment inspection (PSI) takes places prior to shipment, and assesses whether final product meets all quality specifications and can be shipped without delay. Basically, this inspection service will check on product quality, quantity, package and logo, and also implement loading supervision. As an essential step for exporters, it is also requisite for some importers to obtain import certificate, because some importing countries carry out import certification scheme. And customs clearance of goods in destination country cannot be accomplished without the import certificate.
Currently, we are mainly engaged in pre-shipment verification of conformity (PVOC) for Kenyan clients, import verification program (IVP) for Indonesian clients as well as pre-shipment inspection for other international clients.
PVOC for Kenyan Clients
Instead of conventional inspection before shipment, PVOC is a new measure carried out by Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) according to regulations of WTO. It takes effects from Sep. 29th of 2005, and verifies whether all listed products conform to Kenyan standards or possess Certificate of Conformity (COC) issued by authorized organizations. Unqualified goods cannot enter Kenya and may be fined if entering.
On Oct. 25th of 2008, KEBS singed an agreement with us. The agreement states that from Nov. 15th of 2008, we, authorized by KEBS, will be in charge of PVOC for goods exported from Mainland China, Hong Kong China, Taiwan China and Mongolia regions to Kenya. The duration of this agreement is 3 years.
IVP for Indonesian Clients
Our pre-shipment inspection service also includes import verification program (IVP). To protect related industries on Indonesian market, Indonesia Ministry of Trade issued NO. 44/M-DAG/PER/10/2008 regulation on Oct. 31st of 2008 to stipulate that electronic products, clothing, toys, footwear products, food and beverage, tobacco and many other products imported by Indonesia should pass IVP. This regulation comes into effect from Dec. 15th of 2008, and we are specified to take charge of IVP for footwear products, food and beverage products.
