The SHC1216 16k EEPROM contact social security card chip is a low power high performance smart chip for IC cards. In addition to wide applications in social security field, the IC card chip is also often found in financial system to serve as bank card chip or credit card chip.

This social security card chip is in accordance with ISO/IEC 7816 standard, and it perfectly integrates 8-bit microprocessor, 256B IRAM, 1.75kB XRAM, 44kB mask ROM, 16kB EEPROM and other auxiliary circuits together. In addition, the mask ROM integrated in this social security card chip is for program storage, and the EEPROM is used to store data and programs.
