Thick Film Separation-Resistant Series

The JT-660B/JT-G751 dry lamination adhesive is two-component solvent-based polyurethane adhesive, especially suitable to bond thick materials. Our product possesses many remarkable properties, such as high initial and final bonding strength, good resistance to 100℃ boiling, acid and hot media, educt, etc. It is applicable for diverse substrates. When used on laminated iron, it possesses properties such as film flexibility, good resistance to shock and can effectively eliminate flakes.

Applicable Substrates
This dry lamination adhesive is commonly used for the bonding process of BOPP, CPP, VMCPP (PET), NY, PET, AL, iron, PE and many other laminates. This binder is a preferred material when the laminates ask for strict chemical resistance such as laminated iron.

Calculation Formula for Dry Glue
Cw=KhN, where
Cw is the dry glue amount (g/m2)
K is the correction factor whose typical values are within 0.15-0.25
h is the cell depth of anilox roll (μm)
N is the solid content of adhesive (%)

Calculation Formula for Diluent
Wx = (Wz×Nz Wg×Ng)/N-(Wz Wg), where
Wx is the weight of diluent (kg)
Wz is the weight of main agent (kg)
Nz is the solid content of main agent (%)
Wg is the weight of curing agent (kg)
Ng is the solid content of curing agent (%)
N is the working concentration after proportioning (%)

Cautions
1. For this dry lamination adhesive, the corresponding substrate must be clean, dry, dust-free and oil-less, and its surface tension should be higher than 38dyn/cm2. For PET and NY substrates, the surface tension values need to be over 50dyn/cm2 and 52dyn/cm2, respectively.
2. The applied solvent, namely ethyl acetate, is required to have a water content of less than 0.1%, while alcohol, acid, amine and other materials that contain active hydrogen should be avoided. Otherwise, incomplete drying may take place.
3. When it comes to lamination process, the ambient RH is recommended to be around 65%. If actual RH is higher than this value, more curing agent is needed.
4. On condition that the substrate has too much slip agent (erucylamide), the bonding strength turns out to be worse. Given this, the application of such substrates must be controlled rigorously.
5. The glue should be used within 8 hours after preparation. The remaining glue needs to be kept in a closed container, and the container requires cold preservation. Before using the remaining glue, please thaw it in sealed condition, and mix it with newly prepared glue. Moreover, it is not allowed to use whitish or cross-linked glue.
6. If the dry lamination adhesive is planned to bond PET or PA, please place the printed substrate for 24 hours before lamination to get better results.

Lamination Process
The drying tunnel temperature shall be increased to 60℃, 70℃ and 80℃ gradually, and this temperature, along with the air flow, plays a very important role in the evaporation process of solvent. The lamination temperature is 55-85℃, and the pressure of press roll is within 0.3-0.5MPa. In addition, appropriate drum heater’s temperature and pressure help to improve the transparency and peel strength of final product.
The curing process is implemented at 40-50℃ for 12-48 hours.
Product Package and Storage
The main agent of our dry lamination adhesive is stored in a barrel, and one barrel contains 20kg of such product. On the other hand, 4kg of the curing agent is packed in one barrel, and this is customizable.
This laminate binding chemical is a kind of flammable material. Hence, it shall be stored in a cool, shady, fireproof, moisture-proof, well ventilated place.
