Industrial Processes
We can adopt different production processes for carbon steel reducer production, including stamping, drawing down, and expanding. Sometimes, expanding and drawing down methods are used in combination to produce products with special sizes.
1. Stamping method is usually adopted for making products with specialized specifications. The stamping die has to be designed according the specifications of the product.
2. Expanding method is utilized for making products with large diameter difference between the two ends. During expanding, tube blank with diameter smaller than the large end diameter is used as the raw material. Then, a stamping die is employed to help expand the tube blank diameter.
3. Drawing down method uses tube blank with the same diameter as the larger end as the raw material. By compressing the tube blank axially, the tube moves inside the die cavity, and finally the tube diameter is reduced to the desired level. According to the diameter difference between the large and small end, the drawing down process may be completed at one time or completed via several steps.
4. Sometimes, the expanding and drawing down methods are combined together for carbon steel pipe reducer production. Pressing process is a necessary step during pipe diameter expanding or reducing. Based on material type as well as diameter difference between the two ends, we may adopt different processes, such as cold pressing and hot pressing. Generally speaking, we adopt cold pressing for common products. Hot pressing is adopted for products with high wall thickness, or products requiring several times diameter expanding or reducing.
