What is ALCOT?
The aluminized steel sheet is manufactured by plating the pure aluminum or the aluminum-silicon alloy on the steel plate. As for the aluminum-silicon alloy type plating, the content of the aluminum and silicon is generally 90% and 10% respectively.

What makes it different from other steel products?
1. The product is much superior to the galvanized steel plate and cold rolled steel plate in heat resistance quality. Even being used with the temperature of below 550°C for a long time, it almost has no change and can still maintain the nice luster. But when the temperature surpasses about 600°C, the aluminized steel sheet comes with mutual diffusion of iron and aluminum resulting in alloying. And its surface turns to the dark color gradually from gray. Meanwhile, the melting point of the metal layer becomes very high. Even if the temperature exceeds the melting point of aluminum, the aluminum won’t melt and precipitate.

2. Moreover, the high temperature oxidation layer formed on the plating surface inhibits the formation of iron phosphide. Consequently, during the period of time with intense diffusion and that the surface aluminum metal amount cannot fully inhibit the formation of iron phosphide, the rapid oxidation depletion won’t happen. We compare the aluminized steel sheet with 18-8 stainless steel plate and cold rolled steel plate in terms of the weight increase caused by high temperature oxidation. The result is that the heat resistance property (500°C to 600°C) of the product is as good as that of the stainless steel plate, and that it is much more excellent than that of the cold rolled steel plate by over 20 times.

Advantages
We take the automobile exhaust pipe manufacturing as an example. As for the commonly used stainless steel material in the past, the product can completely meet the requirements like high temperature resistance and rust prevention. It can also help reduce the cost of about two-thirds.

Our Product
So far, Chinese technology in manufacturing the aluminized steel sheet is not so mature. We import the product from Korean POSCO and Japanese JFE. Via the shearing, the product is processed to conform to the specification that the customers require, and then sent to the automobile manufacturers to replace the stainless steel plate for manufacturing the automobile exhaust pipe.
