Our FLQ series solar overheat protector is designed and developed together with a university. It is an overheating protection unit for the water tank in a solar water heating system.
Why Use the Solar Overheat Protector?
The solar water heating system is readily out of order seasonally due to low energy intensity and poor stability. The solar energy radiant quantity varies according to the season, and rises to the maximum in summer. However, the hot water consumption declines continuously in some places like schools, which may lead to constant temperature rise of the heat-collection water tank, even in a boiling state. If the temperature exceeds the limit value for a long time, malfunction will occur, such as gas block-up within pipes and explosion of vacuum tubes, which deeply influences the normal operation of the solar water heating system. Our range of solar overheat protector is especially designed to avoid overhigh temperature inside the solar water tank. That is, it is a cooling system for solar water tanks.
Operating Principle of the Solar Overheat Protector
If your solar water heating system confronts overheating problem, please install a solar overheat protector in the system. When the water temperature of the heat-collection water tank is higher than 80℃ or other preset temperature, the overheat protection system can be started for cooling.
To be specific, as shown in the following picture, when the temperature of water tank passes T1 and the temperature of solar thermal collector is beyond T2, you should close the normally opened solenoid valve DCF5, and install the solar overheat protector in the system in series, so as to dissipate heat by air cooling. In case the water temperature is lower than T3 or the solar collecting system temperature is under T4, please close the solenoid valve. Repeat operation in this way can guarantee system security.

Notes:
1. These are parameters of standard overheat protectors for solar water heaters. Special designing is available to meet your needs.
2. The standard environmental temperature is less than or equal to 35℃, inlet water temperature tw1 equals 75℃ and outlet water temperature is 65℃.
3. The heat dissipation power refers to the total heat capacity during heat dissipation.
4. The solar overheat protector supports modularized combination of multiple devices.
5. Due to continuous improvement, parameters are subject to change without prior notice.
We can help you design the intelligent integrated control plan of your hot-water system, if necessary.
