Function
The temperature control valve is a device that helps the compression system to achieve an optimum operating temperature as fast as it can. Maintaining a consistent, proper temperature also extends the replacement interval of lubricating oil.

Work Principle
1. In early time, most of the thermostatic valves were electromagnetic temperature control devices. Since recent years, the assimilation of foreign compression techniques has contributed to the wide applications of wax thermostatic valve. This type of temperature control device is composed of two parts: the valve and thermostatic element.

2. The thermostatic element includes the copper housing and wax whose volume will change in response to the change of temperature. At a specified phase transition temperature, the wax's expansion force reaches a definite value, which is greater than the thrust required to push forward the thermostatic valve. Usually the wax is disposed in the hermetic housing. When the temperatures rise to the wax melting point, force produced by the expansion of the wax pushes the top valve rod away.

3. While the slide valve moves away, the temperature in the housing drops, causing the wax to contract. At this point, the valve returns to its original place due to the spring force. Wax temperature control valve features large thrust. The force generated by the expansion of wax could be as high as 200MPa. Additionally, the valve shows good temperature control ability. Its elements have great rigidity, maximum strength, and long use life.
