22mm Omega Furring Channel

The 22mm omega furring channel is a hat-shaped corrosion-resistant framing component used to fur out masonry walls and ceiling assemblies. For concrete wall applications, our product can be installed vertically along the wall surface via concrete nails or power-driven fasteners. Once this step is complete, gypsum panels can be screw-attached to the furring channels. In ceiling applications, our omega furring channel can be attached directly to the building structure underside with screws, tie wire, power-driven fasteners, or metal furring channel clips. Heavy-gauge furring allows for greater spans and larger loading capacities. Furring strips of the 16 or 18 gauge variety are commonly utilized for purlins in exterior jobs.
