The hammer mill is often referred to as the coal crusher or gangue crusher, mainly due to the fact that it is most commonly used to break down coke, limestone, gangue, and other brittle materials in the coal plant and power station. This specific application brings out the best of the crusher, as it is very effective in reducing medium hardness ore particles to finer size.

In a hammer mill, the feed material can be steeped in water and tumbled with it. Or dry stocks are directly fed into the hopper, ready to be impacted by the spinning hammer. These two operations are frequently seen in the ore dressing plant, refractory metal factory, cement plant, and glass factory

As the hammer inside the mill drum is spun at a high speed, the feed material comes forcibly into contact with hammer head. With a rather simple structure, the hammer mill enables a maximum size-reduction ratio and great productivity. This impactor is an effective tool to have in the mining, cement, metallurgy, building material processing, and highway construction industries, where it can be employed to break down brittle material or medium-hardness material. Upon your request, we can adjust the gap of the bar screen to allow particles below a certain size to pass.

Feed materials to be impacted should have a compressive strength less than 100MPa and water content below 15%, such as coal, salt, limestone, tiles, bricks, gypsum, and chalk. Other materials with fabric structure, scrap wood with high resilience and toughness, waste paper and asbestos cement, and asbestos fiber can also be processed by our hammer mill. The majority of impactors go to the rock crushing line and sand processing line, though some can be used as a much more viable alternative to cone crusher in the ore dressing line.
