Loopback Adapter

Also known as loopback plug and fiber optic loopback cable, loopback adapter is a device which feeds the received signal back to the sender. By sending back the signal, it is used to detect the potential problems in network links. A link between two points in different locations may be tested by applying a test signal on the link in one location, and having the loopback at the other location send a signal back through the link. If this fiber optic loopback adapter receives its own signal back, this proves that the link is properly functioning.
