Illumination design is an important part of architectural and decorative design. It is also the significant means to add color and light as well as the finishing touching for the architecture. So, as the illumination is a crucial detail of the building structure, the designer should select the appropriate architectural lighting solutions thoughtfully.

During the process of illumination design for the architectural decoration, the designer should pay much attention to demonstrating the architectural art fully in the conditions of generating less or no uncomfortable glare.

When doing the floodlighting design, the designer should select the lighting source and lamps in accordance with the surface materials, smoothness and contour of the architecture. The lamp should be mounted behind the signboard or ornament as much as possible to make the lamp out of the vision of people. But the overall lighting effect should be considered at the same time to prevent from causing shadows. In the case of the lamp cannot be hidden out of the vision of people, the designer should make the lamp and the architecture a whole to avoid destroying the overall effect of architecture as far as possible.
