The globe valve is the common use forresidential plumbing and branch lines. Advantages of the globe valve, is lessexpensive comparing with others, less risk of leaking. The inlet and outletopenings of the valve body can be arranged in several different ways, dependingon use. The most common configurations are straight flow, angle flow andcross flow. The globe valve has a conical plug which moves in and out of thefluid, causing flow restriction or dropping pressure and can be used with ahigh degree of accuracy. It is hard to close a globe valve because the pressurefrom the fluid keeps the valve open.
