The LJ380/NAK80 plastic mold steel is a40HRC hardened, highly nitridable, polishable and dimensionallystable steel product. Belonging to P21, it offers many advantages. Compared with typical plasticmould steel like P20, the product allows 10 to 20 %faster machining speed. In addition, it needs no stress relieving even afterheavy machining, and repair welding is possible. The product is also agehardened for uniform hardness, even in heavy sections. Now it is widelyused. Typical applications include plastic molds and molds for flat screenhousings.
