A flange, alsoreferred to flange plate, is fastened to the pipe end and used to connect it toanother pipe. The flange connection is a demountable and leak-proof structurecombined of flange, gasket and screws. Steel pipe flange refers to aspecifically flange used in pipelines and inlet-outlet flange used onequipment. There are holes on the flange for screws that can be used to connecttwo flanges. A gasket is placed between two flanges to prevent leaking.

There aremany different kinds of flanges such as PL, SO, WN, SW, TH, BL, PJ/SEPR, IF andorifice flanges. There are also many kinds of flange faces as well like FF, RF,MFM, TG and RJ.
