How Does the Air Source Heat Pump Water Heater Work?
An air source heat pump water heater is typically composed of a compressor,evaporator, a refrigerant system, expansion valve, and condenser, etc. The lowtemperature low pressure gas refrigerant in the evaporator is drawn into thecompressor and becomes into high temperature high pressure gas refrigerant.Then, the refrigerant is condensed into high pressure liquid form, and produceslots of heat energy. Thus, water is heated by the heat generated during thecondensing process, and this is how the air source heat pump water heaterworks.
Meanwhile, the high pressure liquid refrigerant flows through an expansionvalve which reduces its pressure. Afterwards, by absorbing the heat in ambientair, the liquid refrigerant in the evaporator becomes into gas again to begin anew cycle.
