Ceramsite Rotary Kiln
The cylindrical body of the ceramsite rotary kiln on theidler makes an angle of about 3° with the horizontal. The materials enter therotary kiln from the higher end (kiln tail), and roll down towards the lowerpart (kiln head) under the action of gyratory motion of the kiln body. At thekiln head, coal dust (or other fuels like natural gas, etc.) is sprayed intothe kiln with a high pressure blower. The heat generated from completecombustion of the fuel, results in physical and chemical change of thematerials. The materials expand and are cooled to form ceramsite.
The ceramsite rotary kiln includes single-drum and dual-drumtypes. The former is used for direct calcining inmaking fine particles, which ensures sufficient calciningtime to improve calcination quality. The latter hasseparate control of rotation speeds of the preheating segment and the dryingsegment, which facilitates the preheating time control based on the state ofthe materials. And the dual-drum kiln is applied to producing lytag, and ceramsite productswith shale or clay materials.

2. The products made by the rotary kiln have great durability and increasinglong-term strength.
3. The ceramsite rotary kiln produces ceramsite with high water absorbing capacity which issubjected to treatment.
4. The ceramsite products have relatively high bulkdensity, so the rotary kiln is not suitable for ultra light ceramsite.
Application of the CeramsiteRotary Kiln
The ceramsite products have low density, high porosity, highsoftening coefficient, good freeze resistance, and alkali-aggregate reactionprotection as well as light weight, corrosion and shockresistance. Hence, ceramsite rotary kiln, usedfor ceramsite production, has wide applications inthe fields of building materials, gardening, food and beverage, thermal insulationmaterials, chemical, and petroleum, among others.
