Heat Pipe Solar Collector

The heatpipe solar collector consistsof a vacuum tube and a red copper heat pipe inside. The vacuum tube is placedin an inclined mode. The selective coating on the inner tube converts the solarenergy into heat and the heat is transferred to the heat pipe via an aluminumfin. When heated, the medium liquid in the heat pipe changes into vapor, whichrises to the condenser. When passing through the heat exchanger, the heat isabsorbed and the temperature is lowered, then the vapor becomes liquid andreturns to the base of the heat pipe. This transference of heat is acontinuous cycle as long as the heat pipe solar collector is being heated bythe sun. Even though the boiling point of the medium liquid is only 25-30℃,its freezing point is the same as water, 0℃. As the heat pipe islocated within the vacuum tube, it will not freeze even if the overnighttemperature reaches -30℃ for a short time.
