Laser Berthing Aid System

Laser berthing aid system is used for vessel berthing and docking, which ensure the vessel to be safely berthed. Two laser sensors installed on the jetty are used to measure the distance between the jetty and vessel regularly and continually, so as to calculate the vessel approach speed and approach angle. At the same time, this berthing aid system is capable of monitoring hydrological conditions and vessel approach speed, as well as logging the entire vessel berthing process, transmitting the vessel details (e.g. approach speed and approach angle etc.) to the display device on jetty or the handheld PDA (personal digital assistant) of operator, efficiently avoiding damages caused by impaction between vessel and jetty.

Online monitoring of vessel drift-off: automatically controlled laser sensor measures the distance between the jetty and the vessel regularly. Once the distance exceeds allowable limits, the system will issue warnings (sound alert, flash alert and text alert) to operators, so that the operator can deal with the case in a timely manner while log various data.
