Application

Feature

Theory
PDT (Photodynamic Therapy, PDT) is a new diagnosis and treatment technology using photodynamic effect. It is a photosensitized reaction with oxygen molecule involved. The process can be summered as: laser of special wavelength irradiate on the skin tissues to excite the photosensitizer absorbed by the tissues, and the excited state photosensitizer transfer the energy to the surrounding oxygen molecule to produce high-activity singlet oxygen. The singlet oxygen and the surrounding biological macromolecule generate oxidation reaction, producing in cytotoxicity so as to result in damage and even death to cells.
