A bollard is also known as a ship bitt, and is a short vertical post, originally meant to be a post used on a ship or a quay, for mooring. It is usually either a wooden or iron post found as a deck fitting on a ship or boat, used to secure ropes for towing, mooring and other purposes. Its counterpart, on land, is generally a short wooden, iron, or stone post on a quayside to which a craft can be moored. Our ship bitt is manufactured in accordance with the CB/T 554-96 standard and has been awarded certificates issued by CCS, LR, BV, ABS, KR, NK, GL, RINA, DNV and other third party inspection organizations.
In addition to mooring ballads, WAC also supplies more deck fittings such as chain stoppers, chocks, and roller fairleads. Please click on the corresponding pages or contact us to learn more.
