Separation ring has been developed to provide aconstant gap between the two ceramic honeycomb bricks in twin-brick catalyticconverters. Using a metallic knitted wire mesh separation ring ensures the gapis consistent and prevents gas erosion of intumescent mats.

Separation rings can be produced in a wide range of materials including 304,316, 321, 310, and 310S stainless steel. Inconel 601 can be used in high temperature applications.
