Indications
1. 5%Glucose injection provides energy for the body and can be used to treatdehydration caused by vomiting and diarrhea, etc.
2. As a source of carbohydrate calories in patients whoseoral intake is restricted or inadequate to maintain nutritional requirements.
3. 5% Glucose injection isalso indicated as a treatment of hypoglycemia to restore bloodglucose levels.
4. Hypertonic glucose solution is used asdehydrating agent.
5. Indicated for the treatment of starvation ketosis
