This MEMS 1xN PM optical switch is an optical path control device with small cylindrical package. Based on Micro-Electro-Mechanical System (MEMS) technology, these MEMS fiber optic switches are provided with port configurations ranging from 1×2 to 1×8, allowing for channel selection between a single input fiber and up to N output fibers. The optical path is controlled by rotating the MEMS mirror, enabling the optical switch to transmit, redirect and block optical signals with desired paths.
With features of compact size, low power consumption and high reliability, these polarization maintaining optical switches are extensively employed in optical fiber communication systems and fiber optic sensors.
