Sewage in Biopharmaceutical Industry

The sewage in biopharmaceutical industry is referred to the waste water discharged from various factories for manufacturing antibiotics, antiserums, as well as organic and inorganic pharmaceuticals, among others. Both volume and quality of wastewater vary with the types of manufactured drugs. The wastewater is basically treated by adoption of various precipitation and biochemical treatment methods, such as contact oxidation, extended aeration, activated sludge process, biological fluidized bed, and more.
