Ball Nose End Mills

Ball nose end mills, also known as ball end milling cutters, full-radius end mills or simply ball end mills, are cutting tools that commonly come with 2 flutes or 4 flutes. These end mills can be made from solid carbide or various compositions of high speed steel. The end of this cutting tool is ground with a full radius equal to half the diameter of the tool, and the edges are center cutting. Ball end mills can be designed with general purpose or high-performance geometries for a variety of milling operations. They are typically suitable for milling a large corner radius, grooving with a full radius, contouring and profiling. The ball end mills with smaller diameters are primarily used for engraving.
