Germ Separation System / Germ Cyclone

Germ cyclone is a kind of commonly used germ separation machine in the corn and starch industry. Its working principle: in crushed slurry, the corn germ is lighter than fiber slag; so the light germ will flow out from the upper outlet in the cyclone separation process, while the starch and fiber slag will be exhausted from bottom of the cyclones. Operators can use the germ cyclones in parallel to enlarge its processing capacity, or in series to improve the separation effect.

Technical Parameters
Model Production capacity of single cyclone (t/h) Pressure for feeding (Mpa) Dimension (mm)
PX-125 1.5-2 0.5 [680 (n-1).230] ]×555×178
PX-150 2.5-3 0.7 [680 (n-1).230]×555×178
PX-225 8-20 1 [850 (n-1).350]×680×2190

Precautions of Use
1. Concentration requirements the 1st crushing: for 1000ml slurry, after being separated, the volume of the wet materials left should be 300~350ml (concentration of dried materials: 220g/L); using 40 mesh screen, the concentration of filtered materials should be 6~7Be'.
2. Pressure for feeding: 0.45~0.55 Mpa; pressure difference between material feeding and upper flow: 0.25~0.3 MPa; the bottom flow pressure is 0.06~0.08 MPa higher that the upper flow pressure
3. In the 1st cyclone, the upper flow pressure can be appropriately improved (reducing the flow) to ensure the max germ content of the upper flow. The content of germ in the bottom flow is controlled to the min (the content of bottom flow will be separated again in the second stage). Ratio of upper and lower flow: 0.2: 0.8
4. In the second cyclone, the pressure of the bottom flow can be improved appropriately, guaranteeing that there is more germ in upper layer (the content of upper flow will be separated again back to the first cyclone) and the germ content of lower layer is kept at min. Ratio of upper and lower flow: 0.3: 0.7
