Low-E Glass - An Energy-Efficient Glass

AEON low-E glass is a member ofthe coated glass family coated with one or more layers of metal or compoundfilms on the quality float glass by using magnetic sputtering method. The low-E glass has low thermal conductivity and high light transmittance, ensuringvisible light transmittance and reducing light pollution based on prevention ofheat losses. Thisglass is widely used in large-sized curtain walls anddecorations because of its luxury, comfortable and energy saving features.

Low-E Glass is available in two types, namely, online low-E coatedglass and temperable offline low-E coated glass.

Online low-E glass is a new-type energy efficient glass that featureshigh reflectivity of far infrared heat radiation. Online low-Ecoated glass is produced by pyrolyzing coatingmaterial continuously under high temperature through CVD and MOCVD coatingtechnology so as to deposit them on glass substrate surface moving inside a tinbath and black-out furnace. As the glass is coated online continuously underhigh temperature without extra heating, cleaning or drying process, it can bemanufactured in large scale with low cost. The glass coat is combined toughlywith glass substrate. It can be used in a single layer or be further processedthrough tempering or thermal bending. It is an ideal solution for energyefficient glass curtain walls or windows.

Temperable off-line low-E glass is a highly efficient energy saving product obtained throughthe use of the Magnetron Sputter Vacuum Deposition (MSVD) method where multiplelayers of metal or nonmetal coats are applied on the surface of a top qualityfloat glass substrate.

APPLICATION
AEON low-E glass’s primary application is wherever there is aneed for enhanced thermal insulation and it achieves optimum performance fromdouble glazing. Forexample, the energy efficient glass is ideal for façade glazing, windows doubleglazing in commercial buildings, gymnasiums, and schools, among others.
