The vacuum metallizer provided by BITE Vacuum Technology is rather a multi-tasker, as with one unit operators can coat metals or metal compounds onto resin rhinestones, acrylic glass, shoe heels, car lamps, and of course, cosmetic bottle caps. Though mostly made of cheap plastics, those jar lids and caps can still create a metallic feeling that is meant to dazzle the eyes of cosmetics buyers.
Substrates
BOPET, BONY, BOPP, PE, PVC, etc.
Requirements for Substrates
1. Able to withstand intense heat, especially that of thermal radiation from the target and the latent heat from the condensation of vaporized target materials.
2. Makes sure the substrate does not evaporate during the process. Absorptive substrates need to be treated before deposition even begins.
3. Substrates should be relatively strong, flat and smooth.
4. Excellent receptivity to materials being deposited. Substrates like PP and PE need to be treated so that it is ready to receive the deposition.
